The Great Google Consolidation: Part Two

Part Two of my Great Google Consolidation project is quite a big thing for me, moving all my photos from Flickr to Picasa. I have been a loyal Flickr Pro user for a few years now and it has served me well, but Picasa is now so integrated with Google and particularly Google+ that its just a no brainer for me. Just think, I'll never have to backup my mobile phone photo's again!

While it is actually very simple to download all your Flickr photos (using a tool like Migratr) the real pain comes from having to review and re-organise all your photos. While Migratr will download your photos, it won't keep the sets or meta data you spent precious days entering. Hopefully I'll have more success with Picasa...?

Well, two days of solid downloading from Flickr (@virginmedia are going to love me) and I've got my complete Flickr library in a folder on my PC, then came the rubbish job of sorting and organising all my photo's. Thankfully Picasa makes this a very simple process which only tooku a couple of dedicated evenings. Now I'm right back up on Virgin Media's hit list as I'm uploading all my photo's and music to Google. As a friend sad "Google will assimilate you...." :)
